I agree with him Mike. Americans need to shut thier yaps and quit making the stiff upper lip crown miserable with all thier inscensant whining. They complain all day and want everyone to make thier lives perfect for them. The last place they try to demand improvements from is themselves, and that should be the first.

Goldwater, you and I have always gotten along just fine, but I gotta disagree with you on this one.

This situation is getting very serious now. Why, just today, I've gotten so much bad political news that I'm practically in a rage.

And I mean, that is really unusual for me, I'm the kindest sweetest guy on the whole planet! (Ask my wife, she'll tell you - ask my kids - ask my mom - ask any of my friends, how I behave towards others)...

But now I'm getting real pissed. Really, I am very angry at this moment.

Let me give you just a wee bit of context - I, at one point, was living homeless in a park in New York City, in the middle of the winter, with snow coming down all around, sub-freezing temperatures in the daytime, and no tent, no sleeping bag, and no change of clothes. And, what I did was, I got together with a few other people there (those who weren't crackheads or dope fiends), we organized ourselves, and basically within one month we were feeding the entire population there (several hundred people), keeping 'em warm a night by finding sources of wooden palettes they could burn in the trash cans, kicked out some of the rabble who were running around ripping off the homeless people of what few posessions they had remaining, and I mean....

All I'm telling you is, that when the chips are down, I'll be the first one to help, in any way that I can!

But this - this situation here, is something different. I do not wish to support or assist a corrupt system, AT ALL. I will help people, but I will not "sit down, shut up, and take it" from my elected representatives. That I will not do.

Goldie, what's happening here, is that these people who are supposed to be representing us, are using the law as an instrument of plunder! They are ripping us off, plain and simple. I posted some of the details this morning, you may want to check them out, if you haven't done so already.

What is needed here, Goldwater, is not a stiff upper lip. What is needed here, is action, to bring about change.

If you and I sit at home, or at work, and continue to believe that our politicians will somehow get us "out" of this mess, or "correct" it, then we are abdicating our responsibilities as Americam citizens!

Pal, it is your job and mine to fix this mess. We created it, we own it, and we gotta fix it. It's that simple.

oh hell, is that the impression that I made, my bad I assure you. The government trying to control our lives, and make them better is something I can live with out, in fact I would complain a lot less if they Sat Dow, Shut Up, And Leave Me Alone!!!! I think I am capable of taking care of myself.

I think your talking about an old republican point of view that states "take responsibility for your actions"

I agree with how e gotta fix the problem. But it is my contention that Americans once had the pioneer spirit...not so much anymore. The neomccarthyist witch hunting that pervades the minds of those who desire dramatic and substantive change is offering the wrong plan. Thier theories have never been tested so it's easy to convince people who want change that they have what they need to pull it off. What America needs are fewer unions, fewer government jobs, more entreprenuers, more builders, fewer consumers. Americans need to step up, without waiting for gridlock in Washington to break up and give them what they want.

How do we do this? Education. Americans need to become self sufficient again.

I think it's really part of what I'm talking to Nonsqtr about. Pioneers had nothing but pure responsibility for thier lives. They also knew that success took sacrifice as well. Americans these days including Republicans don't want to sacrfice any of thier own money to taxes that may need to be introduced to balance the budget.
