Freedom of Speech? Only for some!

“I’ve spoken at Emory University several times and I’ve never seen it this bad,” said Horowitz responding to the crowd as they shouted and jeered. “This is exactly what the fascists did in Germany in the 1930s.” Protesters began their efforts as soon as Horowitz was introduced with boos and chants of “Heil Hitler.” Despite the people who stood with their backs to Horowitz and the shouting of obscenities and other remarks from audience members, Horowitz attempted to deliver his speech that covered academic freedom and radical Islam. The loud chants, sign-waving, and disruptive gestures continued to escalate from audience members until the atmosphere was so chaotic that even the police present were unable to subdue the crowd. Horowitz was led off stage and left the campus under tight security, and the event came to an abrupt end. “This is a poor reflection on Emory, and we are embarrassed by the actions so many in the campus community,” said Emory College Republicans Chairman Ben Clark.” The Emory administration must make it clear that they do not condone the protesters’ behavior, but that they respect Horowitz’s right to speak on campus and will work to ensure that this does not happen again.”
Many in the audience left the event disappointed. “Even the students who did not agree with David Horowitz did not get a chance to speak their minds because of the protesters’ disruptive actions,” said Emory Professor Mark Bauerlein. “No one was able to listen to the lecture or to speak themselves – pro or con – everyone was shut down.”
The Left was out in force at Emory University in Atlanta on Wednesday night.

They technically aren't infringing on freedom of speech. They are just being obnoxious assholes not unlike the incident at Columbia. We apparently forgot to teach our children about respecting opposing viewpoints, or at least ignoring the messenger.

On the other hand, what would be said of a school that treated a democrat or a liberal like that?

Out of control far left protestors who interfere or prevent free discussion are just as bad a Billy O'Reilly when he organizes boycotts against businesses because they are somehow involved in something he dissaproves of. He even starts calling campaigns against the advertisers trying to get them to quit on TV shows that dare criticise him.

There is lot's of goon tactics on both sides Conservative. I don't know about you but I don't like any of it.

Exactly...If it was Hillary getting booed off the stage...you would have every network, every liberal organization in America claiming that America is becoming a Facist state!

    I disagree...in an agreeable fashion

Boycotts hit companies on their bottom line. They don't disrupt business, they don't call people names...people vote with their money all the time.

I'll give you that...the left seems to be using 60's style anarchy.

I don't get this thing about silencing opposition. That's why I watch so much Billy Oreilly and Satan Hannity. I wanna know what those guys are trying to pull off on you decent Republicans. It helps me to not get mad at right wingers when I know how being so wrong all started. And I'm not talking about you Conservative I know you don't buy into him wholesale
