    Domestic spying started before 9-11

Does anyone care that the data mining by the administration started a month after they came in to office? I wonder how the righty's will explain that away? Private armies, Domestic spying. Is there anything that will turn a 28%er around?

That, and the request for retroactive immunity for communications companies that "didn't do anything wrong". I don't see how anyone can buy this administration's lies.

OMG, we've been spied on for years before Bush came in. I was hearing this crap in the 70's. Bush is the only one dumb enough to admit to it!

I thought Janet Reno also approved it. I didn't think it was a new concept.

I don't know why this isn't a big story. The media can't see the forest for the trees

I am talking about a specific situation. Don't throw up a bunch of flack.

Well, you seem to make the assumption that the media is there to report on the important issues. That isn't really how the media works these days.

I think your making my point. In isolation this is a huge story. With todays convoluted idea of importance it has become less interesting then Brittney Spears. I am not completely mystified by the ignorance of the American people. How can they help it. But if the press doesn't understand the importance of something like an administration making agreements with corps to spy on people without a warrant or evidence. If the press doesn't see it what hope is there of keeping the government from taking more and more from peoples privacy.

    No shit.

And that really needs to change, the survival of a democracy hinges on people being well informed and being able to make educated decisions.

Amazing. Even a thread about it dies on the vine.
