    It Begins Again in France

    link

When Jacques Rene Chirac was elected, he had dreamed of leading France to great economic prosperity, but was halted by the socialists and unions. Caring more for popularity, he surrendered to the left. Now Sarkosy has a choice, defeat the unions or allow France to continue suffering in one of Europe's most fragile economies.

A 24-hour strike by public transport workers across France has left the country with drastically reduced train, bus and metro services.

Trade unions held nationwide strikes aiming to protect a pension system that offers them special privileges.

he 24-hour strikes - which began on Wednesday evening - are the biggest test so far of President Sarkozy's reform package. He argues that the "special" pension systems, which are enjoyed by half a million rail, energy and other workers, are a relic of the past.

Hilary Clinton would be marching in the streets with the
    union.

She would most likely defend them by saying the special
medical benefits afforded the teamsters should not be re-
duced- but rather held up as a standard and extended to
    the entire nation.

Better that there be unions than letting corporation run rough-shod over the workers at every opportunity.

No, i won't be pissed off IF she should get the presidency & would even afford her the same respect as president as I have all, that doesn't mean I would agree with everything she would do. I would however, be very cautious of my personal freedoms & safety.
