Hillarious. The White House is going to extremes to justify it's disasterous 787 billion Stimulus debacle. They're even creating new districts out of thin air.

The truth is the stimulus basically perpetuated a deepening recession by creating very little private jobs and increasing the debt.

P-Bo's compleltly overestimated his blind and dumb supporters and underestimated his critics. I guess we were supposed to take their word for it.

What's the point of creating these web sites that track this stuff if no one is even going to be responsible for the accuracy of it?

I particularly like the one reported from Nebraska that gave the number of jobs created in one district and it turns out that the only jobs created were the jobs of those hired to count the number of jobs created.

    Our government at work.

I would laugh if I wasn't crying over all the wasted tax money.
You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich.
You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong.
You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift.
You cannot lift the wage earner up by pulling the wage payer down.
You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred.
You cannot build character and courage by taking away people's initiative and independence.
You cannot help people permanently by doing for them, what they could and should do for themselves.

The thing is, those economists who our leaders listen to would say that hiring people who do nothing but count people is still a good use of money and a way to shake us out of the "paradox of thrift".

The main problem I see is that we're too focused on how the money is spent, as if there is some magic formula for spending that will bring about utopia. When we see the government spend money to build a road, we see the 50 people employed by that project. What we do not observe directly is the opportunity loss on the other end. The money must come from somewhere. Whether it is from taxing, borrowing, or printing, the money used to create those 50 highway construction jobs would have been used to employ other people elsewhere. And while it is not measurable (something the Keynesian mad scientists ignore), it is there. And a look at sound economic theory will show that more jobs were destroyed than were created by this stimulus.

    There is no free lunch.

I agree with your post. Now try to find a Liberal that will even listen to that, let alone agree to it.

Oh, yes, another thing I would like to point out....

Having a group of government economists all sitting around trying to figure out how many jobs were saved by Bobo's stimulus bill is akin to a room full of monks trying to debate how many angels can dance on the head of a pin.

Does that mean you don't want to hear anymore about Obama fraudulently posting bogus employment numbers. This is just a preview of Obamacare.

True, but the Palin thread has 175 posts. I guess Stinger's 5 threads on the incompetence of the Obama gang of idiots isn't relevant......
