Thread: Fred Thompson debates

Thompson will debate for the first time this week. Now all the people who have been posting words they read from articles about Thompson can see for themselves how he handles questions. It will not be some chopped up video that is attempting to make him look bad. Judge for yourself. After this debate his numbers will go up. This is my prediction. The debate airs tomorrow Oct. 9 at 9:00pm EST. on MSNBC

He is just what the doctor ordered for the GOP. He's an actor with an actor's penchant for oratory skill. All you have to do is write a script for him. Imagine it. If FT were elected and a major event in world politics occurs simultaneously, FT will recieve the credit regardless of the true cause and effect. Presto, Reagan lives again. Look at the similarities. The GOP's most staunch Commie baitor Nixon is forced to resign in disgrace. The GOP bigwigs are forced to endure years of discredit. Along comes a wildly unpopular Carter administration priming the public for a hardline comeback. Enter Ronald Reagan. Here comes the next Commie fearing crusader with a penchant for inflammatory sound bites and wearing the body armour of religious conviction. The top politicos of the world have all known that the USSR was dying from conception. Lenin himself wrote that the survival of a socialist union depended upon a global workers revolution, which never happened, coming to the economic aid of the CCCP. However, there is no need to inform the public of this when every world power desperately needs an enemy. Now all there is to do is instill fear, inflate military spending, suggest a phantom SDI program and Bob's your uncle. You just took down the "Evil Empire". The fact that people still believe that Reagan beat the Soviets is proof positive of the program's efficacy. No one reads objective, academic history; especially when there are thousands of entertaining novels posing as real research.
There are hundreds of economic and political scenarios in the ME and China alone which are going to happen by themselves. FT could be just the thespian demagogue to take the credit for them.

Maybe he'll learn from his flubbed performances to date and prepare this time.

Preparation doesn't matter to the GOP. Shrub is the most ill-prepared president in history (and the "debates" prior to each election really brought home how ignorant this man is of the world), yet a bunch of bumpkins decided he'd be a good man to have over for a beer & a BBQ, and Voila!

The more FT looks like a bumbler, the more the GOP faithful will love him. Even Ronnie Reagan's bad memory was "endearing."
