And more lies about the whole health care fiasco.

"At the town hall in Portsmouth, N.H., Obama said, "We have the AARP onboard because they know this is a good deal for our seniors." He added, "AARP would not be endorsing a bill if it was undermining Medicare."

    It was a lie.

When will he be called on it?

AARP hasn't endorsed the reform proposals. So what?

Obama lied about it, claiming endorsement to support his position, it was a lie.

A bill, not the senate bill or the House bill, A bill. A bill that doesn't undermine Medicare, something which Obama also wants and will no doubt be the end result. AARP hasn't seen the final legislation yet, so they are not endorsing it. Obama has the same priorities as AARP.

    It's not really that complicated.

according to I have heard, Technically the leaders are for it but the members are not.So in Obama land that is support but not in reality or a majority.Kind of like how he misrepresented on both sides of the Caterpillar support episode.A lot of half truths but not the majority half.Making them not even real half truths maybe 58%/42% or less.

So in fact this is a generic endorsement at best that could be a form letter endorsement of any plan from any politician at any point in the history of mankind. Wow,powerful. No wonder Obama thinks he has support.

What reputable news source is calling the misstatement a lie? Has AARP called what Obama said a lie? No. So where do you come up with calling what Obama said a "lie?"

why do people only tell the parts that make him look bad?

    http://www.aarp.org/aarp/presscenter..._reaction.html

    says quite plainly:

“AARP supports specific measures that would help older Americans and their families – including bipartisan proposals to create a new follow-up care benefit in Medicare that would help prevent hospital re-admissions, as well as to address the Medicare prescription drug coverage gap known as the ‘doughnut hole.’ We also support the need for lawmakers and the Administration to act this year to fix what doesn’t work in the health care system.

“We share the President’s commitment to act this year, and our members appreciate his insistence that any final reform package will not reduce Medicare benefits for the millions of people that literally depend on that program as a lifeline.

“We look forward to working with leaders of both parties, including the President, to build a final package we could endorse that addresses the concerns of the 50-plus population and brings quality, affordable health care choices to every American.”

Why indeed? It's just another feeble attempt by Stinger to blow out of proportion even the most trivial misstatements by anyone in the Obama administration because in the partisan world that Stinger inhabits Republicans are perfect and never make mistakes. Want proof? Well just look to both Bushs, Nixon, and my favorite, Randy Cunningham. Four absolutely perfect Republicans.

not sure he lied per see, but probably did use some misleading language, and should have made a softer stance on this one. because the aarp HAS said they favor health care reform.

then again, seniors themselves seem to not want it:

    http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009...8:b27096858:z0

interesting note from this article is that seniors themselves seem to be under the same impression obama was, that the aarp IS endorsing this bill. so clearly that false message got out there somehow.
