    The US and Iran

What should the US do about Iran?

I feel nuclear power should be allowed there, only under strict, multilateral inspections though. Creating nuclear power, and creating nuclear weaponry, are two very different things, not easy to mix-up under a watchful eye.

Letting them have nuclear power under strict watch and transparency means we sidestep the issue and not look like jackasses to the avarage Iranian, at the same time calling their bluff.

It is time to resume relations with Iran, and involve the rest of the world in the decision making process.

All President Ahmadinejad wants for Iran is nuclear power, but they certainly have the right as a sovereign nation to develop such weaponry considering their needs for a strong national defence. They are facing belligerent warmongers with loads upon loads of nukes . Saddam Hussein ditched nuclear weapons and tried the "inspections" option and look where it got him and his country.

The last half of your statement cancels out the first half. Do you feel they want nukes or not?

No, there is no indication that they do.

But I find the idea of bossing around a sovereign nation about what weapons it may develop to be a supreme act of hypocrisy on the part of the most belligerent nuclear superpower in the world.

If the U.S. truly believes that Iran is a threat to its security, and has substantial evidence to back up its claim, it has the right to persue military options.

As a U.S. citizen, I couldn't really care about the "sovereign" rights of Iran if It means a threat to my country.

I agree with you except not many other sovereign nations speak of using those Nukes to "Wipe out" another nation. I find it fascinating however, that the same people in government and on here who think we Must stop Iran from getting Nukes are the ones saying to use Low Yield Nukes against them...lol Talk about hypocrisy?? People are so stupid...

Good idea, then the US can add Russia to it's list of "Threats" to our country.

Extremely hypocritical, you are very right. However I disagree with you that Iran should nuclear weapons. In fact, I disagree that any new country should have nukes, we should be worried about ANY country that wants to develop them. If anything we should be working to get rid of them, worldwide.

Iran should never get nukes, however for us to be effective in bringing that about and ensuring it, we will have to change the way we think, for instance as Babylon pointed out, the idiots who say we should nukes on them.

Im telling you, the message is just, even if the messenger is crooked.

Why can they not have nukes when every American politicians says, “they will go to war with Iran” , “Iran is a threat” , “Iran is evil”, “Iranians are terrorists” , blah blah blah.
