    A buried 60 Minutes Interview

The video employs clips from a 2004 "60 Minutes" Interview with 2001-2003 Secretary of the Treasury, Paul O'Neil. O'Neil,a Permanent Member of the then formed NATIONAL SECURITY COUNCIL (NSC), was eventually FIRED in 2003, for what he OPPOSED and witnessed in the Early days of the JUST elected 2001 Bush Whitehouse. He was appalled at the Secrecy and Contradictions in the George Bush he thought he knew. It was apparent a new agenda was rolling...and he wanted NO part in it. War plans were in the works, long BEFORE the 911 World Trade Center attack. Far from a tragedy, 911 was an OPPORTUNITY for the Bush/Cheney White House to proceed with Plans.

Are you saying 60 minutes buried this video. Why would they do that? Since they own it, if it was buried how did it get on Utube?

The media holds out information all the time at best, most of the time its trumped, elaborated, fabricated, or sensationalized, but we get lucky when they actually do something worth merit and then show it to us.

As for this video or any video coming out that was hidden, many people in the journalistic field are defecting from their major network to work for more objective and truthful networks and publishers, usually taking a few bits of information with them.. then they put it on youtube and viola.

Search for documentarys on the media on google video. You will find 1-2 hour documentarys filled with defected, disenchanted reporters who speak out against the major networks for many reasons, one is witholding information such as videos like the one posted here.

And as for why would they at 60 minutes bury this piece or any other, it didn't align with the current administration is most likely the reason. I am not sure but it usually is the case.

Yeah its all about alignement. I'm 2:30 into the movie and that is very clear. This shows that Bush was planning Iraq days after becoming president.

    This is messed up.

Wow Bush stated in a debate with Clinton that he was against going out and extending arms to the rest of the world. No more nation building.

And they had the gall to call Kerry a flip flopper. He may have been one, but they seem to both be that way.

A flip flopper is one who changes his mind for trivial reasons or just to gain political favor. Other people change their minds for serious reasons of state.

Do you have any evidence that supports one position or the other regarding the potus?

I would be willing to bet you can prove P. Bush has flip flopped on at least something - don't all politicians? But what important issues has he flip flopped on? Has he done it as a defining aspect of who he is (like Sen. Clinton) or has he done it periodically?

Well in the video he stated one thing and then did another. I was nice to call it a flip flop since it was a lie. If I was to vote for Bush based on the fact that I do not want our forces over seas nation building, then voted for him only to be surprised that we are now in Iraq, nation building, I might think to myself that he flip flopped.

And you are right lakeman, politicians do flip flop on some issues and I shouldn't be surprised. For it to be stated that Bush wanted into Iraq 10 days after becoming president, then that would again be nice to say that he was a flip flopper at that point.

Ironicly enough I saw a film about FOX news and how they ran the Bush campaign on television. It showed how the term flip flop was brought to use during the Kerry campaign as FOX was slamming him again and again. So the irony is that I'd use it in a comment about Bush, when I should of said he is a liar if he had plans to go into Iraq 10 days after becoming president.

One important issue is the severity of catching OBL. By his own words he seemed disinterested in catching OBL even though I am aware that he is still being sought after. He may have not been disinterested to define who he is to himself, but it certainly effected those around him and look to him for leadership. Like myself.

Ultimately Lakeman, I don't have any direct evidence on Bush that he is a flip flopper, but if this video is true, then he is definately up to something wanting to go into Iraq that soon. It brings a lot of things into perspective and makes you question everything that he has done and what is the meaning of it all.

He is not the man I voted for in 2000 I will tell you that.

Not buried. Michaelr posted on this same video the other day. It was aired (1/14/04) and several print outlets reported on it. You can find that discussion here:

Interesting interview though just the same.

You are very honest and surely more right than some others (on whatever side)

Regarding the bolded section: I might just join the ranks of the conspiracy theorists and say that they never intended to catch him because they wanted him dead quietly. Better that he just fade away than that he continue his campaign or that he become a martyr. It is just those darn facts that get in the way of the theory.

    We're all a little guilty of flip-flopping...
I use to tell the sorority girls I wouldn't come in their mouths either... :whistling:
