He is one of the most considerate people around isn't he. (not sarcasm)
I think he tries to be open and consider all views but in the end he will never deviate from being one of the most liberal people in politics. If you never change your mind on anything are you really open?
In all the general election polls I've seen recently, Hillary is doing the best among the Democratic candidates (I look at the RealClearPolitics averages). Although, (I don't know if someone has said this before, I haven't read all the previous pages on this topic), I think a lot of her candidacy is based on her aura of inevitability, partly bolstered by the media. If she comes in third in Iowa behind Edwards and Obama, that would be a huge blow to the campaign.
And in a side note about polling numbers. In past, pollsters have observed the Bradley effect, which is basically that black candidates have artificially high poll numbers. White voters say they'll support the black candidate, but in the voting booth vote for the white candidate due to societal pressures. I wrote a blog post called "Inflated Clinton Poll Theory - a New Bradley Effect" applying the same principle to a woman candidate. It said that people not wishing to appear sexist say they'll support Clinton, but then vote for someone else on the real ballot.
Apparently, she doesn't or else Bill would not have turned to Monica.
With that being said, I don't think she'll even win the primaries. She has no charisma. She's so conservative in some areas that it's not even funny. Many liberals feel she sells people down the drain. She comes off as somebody who will moderate as much as possible for a vote. At the same time, she has a certain liberal history which turns some off. A double edged sword. I bet it will be Edwards who wins the primaries.
The feminist in me noted something four years ago. Hilary (after Bush won again) talked about wanting to create a "pro-life" set up. I read into it and it turned out to be promoting family planning (so people don't get pregnant). That's fine, but my question is how far she would go to get a vote. She already started using words to please conservatives. My question is whether she would promote actual policy to please conservatives. I'm afraid she would.![]()
I think Billy's indescretion only violated the fragile sensabilities of some of our family values crowd. Many Democrats and lots of Europeans thought it was much adoo about personal drama. It coulda been done with less infidelity and lying of course. I think it actualy made us look kind of puritanical and "Church Lady" like during Kenneth Starr's inquisition. So I feel the people who critisized Clinton were the ones who reduced the dignity of Americans in the eyes of the world more so that Bill did, if Bill did at all.
Now, the amount of damage Bush has done to our international reputation and our dignity with this wild monkey food fight of a war.....well......I guess I'm gonna get the Surge crowd piling on soon with "surge working", "Patraeus God" "Don't question report you Dem traitor" stuff if I go on....so I'll stop, I think you get my point if you're still reading.
Infidelity=war?......I say war tips the scale in lack of dignity![]()
