So what is the bible then if it isn't bunch of predictions and predestined events? I think all christianity is saddled with the conflict of predestiny and freewill. Just like it is saddled will a multitude of contridictions.
(A)
"Thou shalt not kill"
"An eye for an eye"
(B)
"You shall deny me three times..."
If Jesus knew the apositles would deny him and even told them they would, it was preordained...predestined. They didn't have freewill.
Hey, you're barking up the wrong tree with me. All these paradoxes leave me baffled, too.
But I don't even get that far. What's up with "original sin"? We're born into sin? I think not. I believe we're born perfect, then corrupted.
My point was "predestination" is a doctrinal point that the various denominations like to argue about. A Baptist (I think) would have problems with the notion of predestination.
"Thou shall not murder" was the original commandment. Murder is a legal term, kill is not the same.
"An eye for an eye" was before JC, He took all that.
"You shall deny me three times" is not correct, "you WILL deny me three times before the cock crows" is the correst text.
What does pre ordained have to do with free will? God/Jesus does not make/force people to do anything.
