Not sure if I agree with his not taking McChrystal's request and sending 40k troops but it at least looks like he is FINALLY making a decision.

There's no need to send 40,000 at this point. Winter is moving in soon and the Taliban will take to the hills to restock and rearm. The fight will start up again in the spring.

Hm.... the White House is saying these reports of a "decision" are premature.

If you know a thing about military tactics, THAT would be the best time to overload the troops and squash the Taliban when they are at their weakest. You have to take to the offensive. Waiting for them to restock and and rearm is pure foolishness. You would be guaranteeing unnecessary American troop losses.

In normal circumstances yes. But the terrain of Afghanistan doesn't allow for that.

Ahhhh...closing the barn door after the horse escapes!! Good job. If Mr. Bush was more interested in bringing OBL to justice than rolling the wheels of the MIC and nation building, this would not be a topic of conversation. We dropped the ball in going after OBL. What are we fighting for there now?

You're sure of that? You have been to Afghanistan? You know better than McChrystal what is needed? I must have mistaken you for someone who was not a General serving on the ground in Afghanistan.

No, actually I talked to my dad. He's been there. Couple that with his military experience and he's got a better handle on this than most.

I'm not surprised you made assumptions about me. It's hard to think anyone else may have legit answers when you think you have all the answers to everything.
