In a very telling interview with the Washington Post, House Majority Whip James Clyburn, who unfortunately is from my state of South Carolina admitted that a positive report in September from General Patraeus would,
"split Democrats in the House and impede his party's efforts to press for a timetable to end the war."
Is this arrogance or what ? A member of the Democrat leadership actually has the gaul to admit without hesitation that success in Iraq is bad news for Democrats. Cyburn went on to say in the interview in reference to the Democrat , "Blue Dog, "caucus,
"I think there would be enough support in that group to want to stay the course and if the Republicans were to stay united as they have been, then it would be a problem for us."
