I have a question for the conservative faction of the site.

I generally find conservatism agreeable in large parts. The movement I see happening right now can, when the right person is speaking, make quite a bit of sense. To me people should be free to do almost anything including but not limited to...

    Buying Guns

    Getting Married

    Non-Synthetic, Class D Substances.

And I don't know how to phrase this one, but I feel like most taxes are a general burden to the middle class, whcih i believe stimulates the countrys economy.

My general political positioning can be figured out this way - So long as everyone has equal footing to begin with, that is to say has all the oppertunities as the next guy, I'm fine with how things turn out. From what I understand of Mill, this is a very utilitarian position.

The one thing I cannot wrap my head around is why conservatives are generally put off by the immigration issues this country faces. I'm aware its against the law, but so are guns in certain places and thats protested all the time. So the question is, why do conservatives care if Mexicans (or any other group of people) come into the country?

I keep hearing about jobs going to non-americans but these are generally lobbed from non-union, right to work states. So whats the problem?

Your buying into the hype, there is a big difference between illegal immigration and immigration. Maybe your question should reflect to which one you are referring to.

I understand why the Right is against this. With the laws we have now, an illegal immigrant is breaking that law whichever way we look at it. I don't, however, think we can solve the problem by targeting the immigrants themselves.

To this end, it is my belief that when pollution is found, it should be halted at the source, even if this requires stringent government action against important segments of our national economy."

Right, lets say tomorrow all immigration laws were stricken. Why would conservatives be opposed?

No it isn't. Most cons I know doesn't give immigration a second thought, but illegal immigration is a different story.

Great, so tell me that story. If you think we should deregulate to no end, why stop at the border?

The quota we are currently at is around 3 to 4% I believe of former census immigration numbers. This is extremely too low for a nation such as ours. If we want to continue seeing ourselves as the land of opportunity for the downtrodden, then these numbers need to be flatly increased by a large margin. Also, the laws on the books now favor skilled individuals. I think this is a biased law to have for America and needs to be removed.
