NEW YORK (AP) -- Stocks plunged Friday, erasing all of the previous day's big gains, as a drop in consumer spending fanned worries that the economic recovery won't be sustainable.

When your unemployed spending is drip, drip, drip. It's all about jobs and when Obama figures that out things may change. But for now all he does is demonize businesses, what the hell does he expect. Further no one has any confidence in him now that they seen his spending binge and pushing for his government option as a spending scam. People know their taxes are going up and they see the national debt and the deficit going up, then add the health care trillion dollar scam to name just a few.

i think your seeing that the people are waking up to the oxymoron jobless recovery. It has never worked, and there is no reason to think it will now. Government spending, welfare, unemployment, prisons, the police state, things like this will be the new economy along with wars.

The banks are flush with cash, I see them releasing some of it but not much, not enough to provide real growth, and one damn thing is certain, unemployment will not improve, and the jobs lost are lost forever.

People believed the lie, for an entire day. The market is negative compared to yesterday's start. the 200 points are gone, and then some, and the dollar dropped today.....again.

If, as you claim, the 200 point gain yesterday was a lie then isn't it equally possible that today's loss is a lie? Why is it that you discount positive movement by the markets but cheer on loss.

By the way, I see that gold also dropped today.

I have a thread about the manipulation of gold, but if you think it dropped because the dollar gained, then go take a look at the index.

Todays loss is a lie, you mean the market didn't drop 230 points?? What are you trying to say?

Wow. This is scary. I better buy gold and a case of toilet paper TODAY. I've never seen the market behave like this.

Hey Mike, when you get a chance, tell us how gold is a less exploitive basis of exchange (and more "moral") than the current monetary system.
