Last time I checked the Earth isn't a secret code name for The United Countries Under America, so using the word Allow is proof of how arrogant we've been taught to think. However, of the Nations who already have Nukes, how many do we hear about making promises to wipe other Nations off the map? Even if they are justified in their beliefs that Israel should be removed, Nuclear weapons should never be used even by the US.

No, Conservative I would not allow Iran to have Nukes even if it meant war, simply because they Would use them and that is unacceptable. If Iran declared war on Israel however, without Nukes, we should not intervene.

I call it self-defense. A terrorist supporting country should not have nukes.

And who should? Nuclear weapons are, to date, the ultimate in barbarity. I would be more inclined to advocate the forcible prevention of further proliferation if the current owners of this potentially species ending technology would employ the same zeal in disarming themselves.

As an American I do not want Iran to have nukes because they are considered our "enemy". How is protecting our security and interests around the glove hyporcrisy?

Iran having nukes scares the crap out of me, especially since they have that IWannaJihad for their leader. But....I really don't believe that a nation that has nukes has the moral authority to dictate to another country that they can not have them. I am a firm believer in the rights of a nation to govern itself, come hell or high water.
That is to say, that the UN should not have authority over any nation either in the way they govern or their foreign policies.

If you feel threatened by something, why would you allow them the possibility to hurt you? I would rather not have my enemies gain such power through a nuclear weapon.

It is just like any other arms race. It would take them decades at full tilt boogey to even get a fraction of what we have. I do not believe this BS propoganda that Iraw WOULD use them. I do not believe it at all. We would wipe them out and despite all of the right wing propoganda, I do not believe that anyone is ready to see that happen to their country.

Bottom line is develop a fucking workable missile defense system and stop bitching. We have the money and we have the scientists. Get to work.

Other than that I think people should stop the hypocritical bitching about what others are doing. As others have noted, we have an arsenal that could litterally kill everything on the planet (But Kieth Richards) many, many times over. So what the fuck are we so scarred of and who the hell are we to tell others they have no right to a deterent against us.

Isreal already has them thanks to us. Do you demand they disarm? No. Why not? Because you think you think the world is ours to dictate to and then you wonder why they hate us.

Its not like we don't talk about destroying that country all the damn time. Not like they do not have a legit fear for their nation's survival given the nukes we and Isreal have.

When we stop treatening them with total annilation, then maybe they will not be so motivated to get them. Ya think?

Having a "you can't have them, but we're not giving up ours" policy is hypocracy. To pontificate on the dangers of atomic weapons while being in possesion of the largest arsenal on the planet is hypocracy. As soon as the U.S. dismantles its stockpile of nukes it will have a moral leg to stand on when telling others to disarm, much less making ultimatums. I do not want anyone to have nuclear weapons. Not Iran, not the U.S., no one. As long as Iran realizes that they would be anihilated should they ever choose to let the genie out of the bottle, they will not choose to do so. I suggest all nuclear powers work together to rid the world of existing fission/fusion explosives, starting with their own. Then they can begin to deter further proliferation by military means if neccessary.
