Do we need a permission slip to defend ourselves?

Anyone have an answer?

No. Why would we need a permission slip to defend ourselves, country-wise or personally? I would never ask someone's permission to defend myself or if I was a country I wouldn't ask permission from anyone to defend my borders and land and people.

That said, you can't just pick out a person from a crowd and then go over to him and kick the shit out of him just because.....

Just because he repeatedly violated UN 1441.
Just because he had sworn himself to bhe our enemy.
Just because his country is littered with mass graves.
Just because Baghdad is the cultural center of the muslim world.
Just because our president and his advisors which I dare say know much more about this conflict than any of us decided that Iraq makes a much better battleground for fighting this war than say Northern California.
Just because anybody that knows anything about world history knows that Iraq is the one place that every Arab terrorist with fight to the death to remove us from. That is the objective is it not, to kill ALL Arab terrorists?
Iraq has become like a roach motel for terrorists, they check in but they go out on a stretcher or hosed off of the pavement in little pieces.

Explain exactly how Iraq was enough of a threat to merit a wasteful and fruitless invasion such as the one that has occured? Bush and his admin are the epitome of the proverbial Ship of Fools.

Perhaps it was not a defensive action but it was damn sure a pre-emptive one. It was only a matter of time until this conflict took place and in a post 9/11 world Bush made the right decision for America.

Oh so the sympathy factor now? How about we invade Rwanda, Sudan, Turkey and any other nation that has commited atrocities in the recent past?

That is no justification. Pre emptive striking is not only foolish but stupid as well. There were no grounds to suggest that a strike was necessary, and there still isnt.

It was only a matter of time until this conflict took place and in a post 9/11 world Bush made the right decision for America.

Tell it yourself to the Kurds that were gassed WITH the stuff we sold Saddam and continued to sellto him after the Kurds were gassed.
Tell it yourself to the people of Kuwait after Saddam was told the US had no interest in whether he invaded Kuwait, prior to the Kuwait invasion.

Tell it yourself to the innocent civilians who have died since the invasion.

Why don't you go to Baghdad and tell them? Have fun.
