Scooter was fined $250,000 & sent to the clink for a "crime that was a result of a no crime".
Now lets compare Scooters punishment to Sandy Bergers "punishment".

    CNN.com - Sandy Berger*fined $50,000*for taking documents - Sep 8, 2005

Funny how you seem to forget that there were in fact 4 individaul felonies that Scoots was convcted of. It there was no underlying crime, why did he feel the need to "intentionally" lie to investigators and the grand jury? That was a crime and it was what he is going to jail for as he should.

Maybe he'll see Paris Hilton in the can!

Selective outrage? If there was an underlying crime & we know who committed that crime, why no prosecutiuon of that crime.
What do you think of the Berger comparison?

Too bad he got such a light sentence..
Too bad it is not Karl Rove donning an orange jumpsuit.
Too bad the rest of the current administration still is out free.
Too bad for the world that Americans elect criminals.

I think it is an utter irrelevant distraction. Apples and oranges.

They were both convicted and they both got sentences in accordance with the sentencing guidelines for the two DIFFERENT crimes that they were found guilty of.

I make no appologies for either criminal. You do though.

Funny thing is that you want to bitch that Bergers sentence was too light. He got a light sentence because he COOPERATED with the prosecutors and admitted wrongdoing.

Maybe your boy should have come clean and shown some remorse. I suspect his sentence would have been much lighter. Instead he just keeps lying and refusing to take and responsibility for his crimes.

Bottom line: Berger is irrelevant to this case. Different on far too many points to make it an even remotely valid comparison.

So, i think one crook got off lightly while another didn't, makes me a supporter? Okaaaay.
I make no excuses for Scooter & when a thread about him being found guilty was up, i said "if he done the crime....he does the time" You can't hang that around my neck, not with any kind of straight face.
I was comparing bergers crime (which at first he denied until the evidence was brought out) Berger still hasn't taken the lie detector test that was a part of the agreement.
The thing is, there was ot an underlying crime in the Libby thingy, there was a blatant crime in the Berger one. It's who berger was protecting that got him off with a slap on the wrist. It is not apples & oranges, both crimes are felonies, one could be very dangerous to the nation, one didn't hurt anybody because it was an empty case. I don't have a problem with Libbys sentence, i just find it abhorant that he was treated differently because of who he is, & that, DA, is what happened.
