Thread: I hate America!

No, not really, no, I don't.

But this is what I'd love to see USA become:

- A strong respected leader in the world.
- A country that does not invade and bully countries around the world.
- A country that care about it's citizens and whose goal is to make life better for all it's citzens.
- A country that can be emulated and looked up to as it once was.
- A country that is not run by criminals and corrupt egomaniacs
- A country that garner respect for the good it does and not hatred for the bad things as it is doing now.
- A country that is on the forefront of environment issues and not a stubborn do good for nothing like it is.
- A country that is not based on religious discrimnation and were religion is not alfa and omega

and many other things.

So, no I don't hate America, I just hate what it has become.

For a second there, I thought you were going to actually have the guts to say what you really meant.

- How about personal responsibility? The government will protect you from coercian by others and other than that you are on your own. Seems fair to me.

- We can't help it if people refuse to acknowledge the fact that the U.S. isn't all bad and does more good than it does (perceived) harm
- If you are talking about the Kyoto Protocol, we should be bound by it if China and India aren't. Also, Bush just announced something today about his plan for greenhouse gases

Both India and China signed/ratified the Kyoto Accords, however as newly developing and industrializing societies are exempt from the dramatic reforms until they reach certain stages of economic development.

The United States on the other hand has not ratified the accords, and is a developed/industrialized modern society. Americans should be the leaders on this issue, not the pouty rich family that refuses to keep up with the Joneses across the Atlantic.

Kyoto is a scam that is doing the same old thing. It is designed to bilk the USA out of billions of dollars. We do not want it. Sorry, no thank you.

We did become that. About 140 years ago.
