The days of the presidency being a populist office ended shortly after the Civil War. The net-net result is you have one self aggrandizing opportunist opposing another set of self aggrandizing opportunists. There's no "we the people" in this process anymore, unless it's "We The People" who get sheared like sheep and then sold for lamb chops.

Until you can take the impact of money out of the equation there is no hope for a third party.

JL, I'm talking mostly about candidates that have made it to the debates & weren't allowed to debate. You're right, a poor man or woman will never get out the gate. They can talk all they want about how "I feel your pain", they don't have a clue, only empty promises & lies.

Unfortunately, very few people actually want to listen to a candidate who will "tell it like it is" and not feed them a line of BS and "feel-good" promises. There's trouble in this country "big time," and it's going to take a miracle to awaken the masses and force them to insist on the necessary changes.

The majority of the people here in this country don't want to have to fight for what is right and would rather sit back and "let the other guy do it." Well, I have news for you folks: The "other guy" is you!
