    on Afghanistan.

White House press secretary Robert Gibbs went after the former vice president, suggesting that Cheney's call for quick action in Afghanistan from President Barack Obama contrasts sharply with Cheney's own record while in office.

"What Vice President Cheney calls dithering, President Obama calls his solemn responsibility to American men and women in uniform, and the men and women of this country," Gibbs said in his daily briefing.

"I think we've all seen what can happen when somebody doesn't take this responsibility seriously," Gibbs added.

Cheney launched one of the most stringent criticisms of the Obama administration's approach to Afghanistan in a speech Wednesday evening, suggesting that Obama "seems afraid" to make a decision on Gen. Stanley McChrystal's recommendation for more troops in the country.

"I think it's a curious comment given, I think it's pretty safe to say, that the vice president was for seven years not focused on Afghan," Gibbs said. "Even more curious given that an increase in troops sat on desks in this White House, include the vice president's for more than eight months."

This man has absolutely no shame. He needs to keep his big mouth shut- and no, I am not trying to stifle his precious freedom of speech.... I'm just offering a suggestion.

Obama has no idea what to do with Afghanistan, yet he told us this is the “right war”, “the good war”, Obama argued for more resources and more troops to finish the fight against the terrorists who actually attacked us on Sept. 11,” Obama declared this in his Aug. 28, 2008, acceptance speech at the Democratic National Convention in Denver, and Obama was elected on the explicit promise that he would indeed “escalate” the war in Afghanistan, a promise that he reiterated in August when he called the mission there a “war of necessity.” All this rhetoric and no action, further he’s had nine more months to think about it and still cannot come up with a plan. He said the surge would not work in Iraq, I can see why he would question his own judgment.

This from the man that had no qualms about taking the military focus off of Afghanistan and the efforts to get OBL and AQ camps in Afghanistan, the man who was all about the evils of Iraq that didn't exist.

As the saying goes - consider the source.

Gee, you are so right. I remember now, Bush/Cheney did get OBL and did crush the AQ camps in Afghanistan and they did leave Afghanistan a calm and peaceful democratic nation and despite basing their war in Iraq on lies, they were successful. I mean remember "Mission Accomplished" - they won in Iraq and successfully withdrew the troops when they left office because Iraq was a calm and peaceful democratic society. Oh, and Pakistan is so stable thanks to Bush/Cheney foreign policy. Why shouldn't he be questioning Obama's judgment and why shouldn't we listen to what he says.

Wishing harm on a public figure is in bad form, no matter who that person happens to be.
