Thread: How the Democrats can Win

The Democrats have an opportunity to take hold of the American spirit by uniting the country under moderate leadership and working toward creating more efficient government. They seem to be abandoning this opportunity in pursuit of power or out of a slavish devotion to their emotions. The Republicans gained power by fighting corruption and dedicating themselves to sticking up for the people, but they abandoned that path, became corrupt and began using government to empower themselves. Now the country, in their disappointment and frustration, are looking to the Democrats to make a change. But the Democrats are promising more spending, higher taxes, a weak foreign policy, legitimizing illegal border crossings, increasing restrictions and regulation on American businesses which no doubt will end in more jobs going overseas.

While they talk about civil rights, they have done so little to protect the civil rights of homosexuals. While they talk about the environment, they have held the federal government to the lowest standards. While they talk about ending corruption, they are neck deep in the wealth of special interests, corporations, and the aristocratic elites. They talk about poverty, but they are making it harder for people to find work by raising the minimum wage.

If the Democrats would only come back to center, to care more for the good of the country than their own political power, I could support them.
