Thread: Euthanasia: For or Against?

I am personally for it if the dying patient wishes.

I am for it but with some caveats.

If someone has a terminal disease, than I think that they need to be of a sound enough mind to make the decision to end their own life.

I am against assisted suicide. If one wants to kill theirself, nobody is going to stop that, whay bring in a helper that could suffer mentally from their act.

If the assistant is willing to help then whats the problem?

There are people that are willing to help in kidnappings too, is that a problem?

I used to be against Euthanasia until I saw the suffering of my grandfather before he died. He was kept alive and so had a much slower death than was really neccessary. Euthanasia should be legal as long as it benefits he/she who is to be euthanized. For example s/he is in terrible pain and not just becasue they have lost hope.

Against the idea, on the whole. Far too many negatives and social costs involved.

I am for it, but only if we start with the whitehouse, the supreme court, and congress...
