    The Bi-Polar Politic

Perhaps its just me, but there appears to be a disturbing new political trend of self-righteous, self-loathing, America-hating that can be time stamped by the results of our presidential elections. To be fair many people suffer from this disorder, the minor onset of depression when the opposing ideology emerges appears to be natural. What is disheartening is that the self-loathing and America-hating is a new symptom never before seen at its current levels. Is there hope on the horizon? A new political Prozac is up for approval in November of 2008. The question is if it is not approved how far will the self-loathing and America-hating sink?

I think the "medicine" doesn't lie within the 2 poles you speak of, if you catch my drift.

So your telling me that if I'm critical of the Bush Administration and or the US foreign policy and it's history that I'm anti-american ?? That's called being a good world citizen. But hey your right I might have a little drepression , but I'd rather be depressed then in fucking denial.

I would agree, but there appears to be a lot of hope pinned on it for now.

No, the intent is that there is a trend of self-loathing and America-hating. If that applies to you, you must decide that for yourself. There is nothing wrong with attacking an administration you don't agree with, far from it.

This kind of reminds me of the national mood leading up to the Nixon resignation. We survived that, we'll survive Bush.

I don't see it as a question of survival. During the Nixon fiasco there was far less America-hating and self-loathing. Many people at the time were pushing to better the nation through Civil Rights, Women's Rights, and healthy disagreement with the administration. What appears to be lacking in the current situation is the additional factors to improve the nation.

Is depression an effect of bi-polarism if we have something to be depressed about?

    Re: The Bi-Polar Politic

In this instance there might well be grounds to have some depression, but the lack of pushing for positives elsewhere in the political spectrum only deepens it. It seems that too much energy is pushed to negative aspects of this country without an effort being pushed into positive aspects; that is meant in a if the shoe fits way, not a sweeping generalization to all who oppose the current administration.
