Climate change threatens to prolong the war on terrorism and foster political instability that some governments will be unable to cope with, an influential panel of 11 retired US generals has warned.

Bullshit. Despite Gore's dramatics and politicians acceptance of such, there are no dangers of immediate climate catastrophes. These clowns are just trying to increase the fear so that governments will act irrationaly to climate change. Let's just tax people right out of their homes. After all, the enviros want the average American to suffer and sacrifice for "Mother Earth".

These are ex-US military generals, not environmentalists (or clowns! - have a little respect for the military, please), and they were asked to comment on the security impacts for the upcoming UN security council meeting.

How the hell do you know whether it's true or not? Scientific studies are still inconclusive and could go either way. Why simply dismiss it out of hand?

I didn't say it wasn't true. I said the dramatic scare tactics of the left envir extremists short term predictions are bullshit as evidence by the pro-GW proponent scientists who criticized Gore's "shocumentary" as filled with extreme examples and predictions.:therethere:

I've said it before 1000000 times...quit funding this garbage, and shunt the research dollars to finding alternative fuels! I know thats hard to do with a Texas oil millionaire running the nation, but we need to find ways. Hydrogen FTW!

So youse fellas don't think that ex-military can be envirwhackos, eh? They are suggesting that there is going to be serious impacts from GW within a short amount of time. That's not accurate at all. That's the fear-mongering "facts" that don't bear up under scrutiny of even proponents of GW caused by humans. Anyone that accepts the Gore drama is just as bad as any enviro extremist. Using the UN as a credible organization is absolutely ridiculous.

By the way, I have absolutely no respect for military leaders. (top echelons) They see our young men and women as mere fodder and completely expendable.

1. No, four star generals are not usually associated with "enviro-whacko's" - i'd like to see you say that to their face...
2. I don't see a statement about a short amount of time, but in any event, you have more accurate information?
3. You know of a more credible organization than the UN? Please state it (and don't just rubbish the UN- show me a more credible source)
4. I'm sure that is not the case (re military leaders), I think that is more like the Bush administration. US military leaders have a certain dispassionate utilitarianism regarding loss of life, as all leaders must, but I wouldn't say they see them as expendable...
