New candidates for the Presidency will "air out" all negative issues first to nullify them as negative issues later. If some one had an afair 20 years ago they will mention this first. If they had a dui 10 years ago that would be mentioned. And so it is with this health issue of Mr. Thompson's. It is a clear sign that he intends to run.

That's inereting. His health may affect his performance as a politician in the future.

And so it is with John Mccain too.

Thats why he quickly said that it was treatable and in remission. He gets the sympathy vote (the same one Elizabeth Edwards squandered) and can still be considered fit for the POTUS job.
