Yeah, 20 billion in bribes to get them to vote to get more Iraqi's and American's killed. Dipshits.
Really pathetic. This will come back to bite the people that voted for it....I hope.
You think the dems are about ending the war? You have got to be kidding, or in your word....hello?
They are about power & all they're doing is appeasing the burn the soldiers in effigy wing of their party. You know, the ones that not only burned but also said "F*** the troops". The house dems know this bill will never be enacted!!!
You want to talk about George Bush trying to seize power. I see this all of the time here on this forum. Well this attempt at a bill by the Democrats is all about trying to seize power. The management of any war is that of the Commander in Chief and not Congress. This bill attempts to take that power away from the President. If the President were to sign that bill it would weaken the Presidency.
No matter what we think of any of this political wrangling, the fact remains that young folks are dying for "Nothing". We can talk about WMD's or Regime Change or inserting Democracy, (which is rejected by GOPs) or spheres of influence or freeing of peoples that we currently control completely, but this is all just weak-kneed justification for a policy in search of an ideology.
It should NEVER happen again. Scary stuff, since we (my colleagues and I have had similar experiences.
Tsk, tsk. The Dems know what they're doing. They have the President between the rock and a hard place. They've tacked so much pork onto the bill that President can't vote for it and if he votes against it he's cutting his own throat (and that of the GOP.)
Time to fish or cut bait Republicans. You either support the war unequivocally (as you have demanded that the rest of us do) or you only support it when it's convenient. If it's the former then sign the appropriations bill as it stands. If it's the latter then you no longer get to claim you're "for the militery."
