As if they could decipher two Australians speaking to each other. They're finally getting some Farsi speakers in the CIA... now they need someone who understands Australians?

Always a pleasure to educate :

Noam Chomsky has received many honorary degrees from the most prestigious universities around the world, including the following: University of London, University of Chicago, Loyola University of Chicago, Swarthmore College, Delhi University, Bard College, University of Massachusetts, University of Pennsylvania, Georgetown University, Amherst College, Cambridge University, University of Buenos Aires, McGill University, Universitat Rovira I Virgili, Tarragona, Columbia University, University of Connecticut, University of Maine, Scuola Normale Superiore, Pisa, University of Western Ontario, University of Toronto, Harvard University, Universidad de Chile, University of Calcutta, Universidad Nacional De Colombia, Vrije Universiteit Brussel, and the Santo Domingo Institute of Technology. He is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, the National Academy of Sciences, and the American Philosophical Society. In addition, he is a member of other professional and learned societies in the United States and abroad, and is a recipient of the Distinguished Scientific Contribution Award of the American Psychological Association, the Kyoto Prize in Basic Sciences, the Helmholtz Medal, the Dorothy Eldridge Peacemaker Award, the Ben Franklin Medal in Computer and Cognitive Science, and others. He is twice winner of The Orwell Award, granted by The National Council of Teachers of English for "Distinguished Contributions to Honesty and Clarity in Public Language" [6]. Early in his career Chomsky was granted the prestigious MacArthur Award.
In 2007, Chomsky will receive Uppsala University Honorary Doctor's degree in commemoration of Carl Linnaeus.[7]
Chomsky was voted the leading living public intellectual in The 2005 Global Intellectuals Poll conducted by the British magazine Prospect. He reacted, saying "I don't pay a lot of attention to polls" [8]. In a list compiled by the magazine New Statesman in 2006, he was voted seventh in the list of "Heroes of our time".[22]

So yes America has done bad things and you shouldnt be scared of looking at those links and judging for yourselves.
That is what seperates in my view Americans from the Chinese - the ability to openly criticise ones own govt and foreign policy and maybe even force changes for the better. If you lose that then you live in a police state as bad as China and if we turn a blind eye to our own wrongdoings or vilify those who dare to criticise their own govt then we are losing it.
We dont live in a perfect world and personally for all the wrong things America might have done - id still rather the USA ruled the world than China or Islam - any day of the week.

I still reckon many of you should read some of those articles even if you judge them wanting, Im sure many of them are written by Americans. Self reflection is important - believing we can do no wrong is dangerous.
Oh, you mean the sick things that blame America for everything and anything respect Chomsky.

I was talking about people. I don't know any people that respect Noam Chomsky.
