Bush tries to soothe ties with Mexico
MERIDA, Mexico - President Bush sought to soothe strained ties with Mexico on Tuesday by promising to prod Congress to overhaul tough U.S. immigration policies. But Mexican President Felipe Calderon criticized U.S. plans for a 700-mile border fence and said Bush must do more to curb American drug appetites.

Mexico was the last stop on Bush's five-nation Latin American tour, and the one where the political stakes seemed the highest.

Bush walked a high wire: He wants to improve frayed ties over immigration
and drug trafficking and the Iraq war, but without alienating supporters back home, particularly Republican lawmakers advocating stiff penalties against undocumented workers.

Really, immigration should be the biggest issue of the next election, and Tom Tancredo should be the Republican nominee.

And just what does Tom want to do, just line em all up and shot em I supppose?

No, Tom's not a Democrat. He merely believes that the word "illegal" has meaning.

Is there something wrong with using bullets at the border to stop an invasion?

Is there something wrong with rounding up all the invaders and marching them back across the border?

Hallejuah!!!! I have said several times that if the Dems want a legitimate reason to impeach Bush, the borders are it!!! The problem is that most of DC is in on this betrayal of US Citizens, our Constitution, & those immigrants that are standing in line trying to get here legally.
Just this week some US BP agents in Az crossed over the Mexican border to help put out a brush fire, did they get thanked? Oh hell no, they were reported for crossing into Mexico!! :hissy: Nevermind that the Mexican federalis cross over into the US daily & sometimes firing their weapons at out BP agents!!!

Right, if making bold and probably untrue statements during a speech was treason we'd be up to our ears in treason trials...

Right, if actively assisting the enemy to infiltrate and usurp the national economy was treason there'd be hundreds of impeachment trials.

Except the body responsible for holding the hearing are the same ones that would be getting charged.

Funny how that works.
