this is what the U.S. military did in the early 1900s to thousands of filipino muslims in a village in mindanao; every man, woman and child were killed for the natural resources. The U.S. marines and navy called them monkeys and island ******s.

Sergeant Howard McFarland, a soldier stationed in the Philippines during the war, wrote to the Fairfield Journal of Maine that,

"this is a very rich country; and we want it. My way of getting it would be to put a regiment into a skirmish line, and blow every ****** into a ****** heaven. On Thursday, March 29, eighteen of my company killed seventy-five ****** bolomen and ten of the ****** gunners.... When we find one that is not dead, we have bayonets."

The U.S. is great because of its advanced killing capabilities.

Will you stop? This has nothing to do with the discussion.

Socialism is for people who cant handle the fact that they are losers, so they decide they will take everyone else with them....The behavior of a spoiled brat if you ask me...

    Re: The Morality of Capitalism

How about the idea of a capitalist system of competition with a voluntary social compassion?

It would be fair to all. Those who fall by the wayside are helped by our compassion for them and our compassion for a healthy nation. You wouldn't need to mandate a socialist system of force because we are already as compassionate as the law would require of us.

You can't force compassion but it would be nice if we all were compassionate to the well being of the individual without force, such as socialism. In fact, there wouldn't even be an issue of socialism if we were either more compassionate, or in most cases more proactive in cooperating and competition within our existing system.

It is hard for me to explain so if this sounds like rubish I understand and I will try to explain better.

These things can all be built with a different model, one that does not use taxation.

I am not suggesting that we abandon all taxes. In our mixed economy taxes are a useful evil. But we should recognize that taxes are coercive in nature and we should not have any public expenditures which are not important enough to warrant sending your neighbor to jail for failing to pay his taxes.
