    2008 Election

Who do you think is running for the 2008 election for both parties. Personally I would have to say Obama and Hillary for the democratic side, but for the republicans I am not sure who exactly mainly because it seems somewhat close between McCain and Julliani (I can't remember how to spell it, please correct ).
Personally I don't like Hillary she just annoys me and Obama what's with him he has been in the Senate for two years and has hardly done anything. The media and holywood made a big deal out of him and now he's hot stuff in politics. Personally I would like McCain to run and win, I think he would be a good president, he would be strong on defense and protection of the U.S.
Well just post who you think is going to run and your opinion of each candidate.

There's nobody running yet that I'm comfortable with. All of them have changed their core values in order to get votes. How can they be trusted?
With maybe the exception of Obama, & I don't know that I've ever read or heard what he stands for. As for his experience, he has the same experience as Abraham Lincoln had, course, I'm not a big admirer of Abe either.
Hopefully somebody will come along that I can get excited about & yes, there's still time.

McCaine will get the nod from the GOP. He has done a lot to bolster flagging support for the Bush administration. His position on Iraq is his greatest vulnerability, but it's not one that the left can easily exploit.

Hillary will probably be the Democratic Party nominee- because she has the most money to throw around. Her two greatest vulnerabilities are: the Clinton administration scandals (attacks from the right) and her position on Iraq (attacks from the left).

In a McCaine vs. Clinton election I predict McCaine wins.

Giuliani will either end up as VP or as losing out entirely. He's too conservative for the left and too liberal for the right.

Edwards will lose out entirely. He is too closely linked to the disasterous Kerry run for the presidency. Democrats want their losers to quietly go away- not make repeat runs for office.

Obama may end up being the VP nominee for the Democrats. This will be done more to balance the ticket and offset moderate concerns about Hillary than for any substantive issue. It's a pity, because he has some interesting things to say.

I predict that the rest of the pack (Dem and GOP) will drop out early. This will be attributable to pressure from their respective national committees. Both parties are too factionalized to allow "dark horse" candidates to create a distraction.

Finally, I predict Ralph Nader will run, again, as a spoiler.
On a personal note, I wish someone would ask him not to do so.

You said it all. I wouldn't vote for any of the announced candidates on a bet. I don't like panderers.

    Democrats

H.Clinton-Will get the nod after a long nasty party splitting battle with Obama.

Obama-Will be back after he gains more experience, may in fact be President some day.

Gore-May jump in late, has no chance do to his image as the inventer of the internet and Global-Warming Maniac.

Edwards- No chance, he is an empty suit.

    Richardson- Who?

Biden-Already knocked himself out with his big mouth.

Dodd- Even a bigger who? Could win if New England breaks away to form a new nation.

Kucinich- Will get the vote of all the GW conspiracy theorists.

    Republicans

Guliani- Will win the nod due to his Leadership abilities, ability to rally people from different backgrounds, and ability to communicate. Is a danger of giving the election to Hillary as he might lose the Evangelical base.

McCain- Will not be supportred by the base which feel he is too flip/floppy.

Romney-Is solid in a lot of conservative issues, the base may not be willing to vote for a Mormon.

Gingrich- Has baggage like Guliani, could jump in if there appears a weakness. He is a very good speaker, could make mincemeat of Hillary in a debate.

Hagel- Only if he runs as a Democrat.

    Too many other also rans....

    Re: 2008 Election

With this next election if Hillary runs I am afriad people will vote for her just to vote for a woman, not actually centered on any issues or beliefs. Guess we will have to wait and see though.
