Is free speech good or bad?

Uhh...good...otherwise you wouldnt be able to discuss this topic.

Free speech is a double edged sword. On one hand you have a persons freedom to express their views, on the other you have assholes like Ryan Phelps.

For the most part, I think it is a good thing. And a fundamental right too.

There is a reason that it is first in our list of rights. Without it, America would not of been able to develope as a democracy like it did.

It's a good thing.

People should be able to say what they want, unless they sign a contract stating otherwise.

Eh, yeah, sorry, I forgot another aspect of it.

If the owner of the building tells you that you can't say something in his building, don't do it.

Like, say, the owner of a movie theater.

It's not the owner of the building, it's putting other people in danger with your actions that is illegal.
