    The Government that cried Wolf!

I find this TOTALLY ironic. Both Headline now on CNN:

Gates: U.S. has evidence of Iran helping insurgents
Gates: U.S. has evidence of Iran helping insurgents - CNN.com

Inspector general: Pentagon manipulated prewar intel

I think it is very likley they are right about Iran, for several reasons:

    1) The Iranians hate us
    2) The Iranians want to become a powerful empire again and can do this by making Iraq a puppet state
    3) We've discoverd about a dozen Iranian agents and provaceteurs within Iraq
    4) They are right next to Iraq, so that increases thelikley hood that they are right.
    5) They have a stake in an American failure in Iraq.

Sure. Sort of like the alcoholic claiming he quit drinking 5 minutes ago.
    1) The Iranians hate us
They don't hate "us". They do hate our government since it has been meddling in Iranian affairs since the '50s.
    2) The Iranians want to become a powerful empire again and can do this by making Iraq a puppet state
How is this any different than us making Iraq a puppet state which is exactly what it is right now.
    3) We've discoverd about a dozen Iranian agents and provaceteurs within Iraq
Sure, they're known as diplomats. We call then agents so that we can justify shooting them.
    4) They are right next to Iraq, so that increases thelikley hood that they are right.
This is nothing new. And since we have in fact surrounded Iran with our military forces, who's playing who?
    5) They have a stake in an American failure in Iraq.
America has already failed, accept it cuz it ain't going to get better.

Gates is a long time proven liar.

You're missing an important point here.

All this hoopla (for both articles) is nothing more than an attempt to deflect blame for a policy that has turned into excrement. This is much akin to the campaign in the press that predated the US withdrawal from Vietnam- where the administration set up the argument that the military really didn't have an accurate idea of what went on/was going on in country. It is also akin to the Vietnam war in that they are floundering around for an excuse to place the blame elsewhere. It's important that the Congress and the Administration find some scapegoat- otherwise people might wonder about whether EITHER party is fit to govern.

The war is not going well due to foreign intereference.
The war is not going well because the pentagon messed up.

Gosh- how original! Next we will see some articles condemning Nuriki Al Maliki as being a criminal and an evil despot (shades of South Vietnam!)

If this information is available NOW, the it was available BEFORE the war. All Congress had to do is look for it- they didn't. They were the willing dupes of this administration, and that is why I don't believe that anything substantive will come out of any hearings or impeachment proceedings. They won't find anything which will point to their own ineptitude and nonfeasance in this matter-Q.E.D. we're stuck.

    1) I meant govt, which is why they are giving IEDS to terrorists to kill our troops.
    2) I didnt say it was any different so stick to the issue please.
    3) Who says they are all diplomats?
    4) Sending a couple of Patriot missles over there does not qualify as "surrounding" so please do not say shit if you cannot back it up
    5) This opinion is pointless and flame baiting and in any case it helps my point.

Sure they are. And you base this on the same morons who lied into this war.
    2) I didnt say it was any different so stick to the issue please.
In other words, you have nothing of substance to add. Thanks for playing.
    3) Who says they are all diplomats?
The Iranians, who says they are not? Who opinion has credibility and who's doesn't?.

Take a look at a map.

Your "opinion" appears to be denial.

You'd think they could at least come up with some new material with a 2 trillion+ budget.

Hard to do when billions of that budget are unaccounted for and Halliburton along with a handful of other contractors are getting wealthy from that 2 trillion dollar budget- nothing left a little research. Most of the focus is on playing politics.
