I've never understood how people will spend money on drugs when they have children and bills to pay. I see it at work all of the time. My little town has seen an upsurge in heroin related deaths the past year. A few years ago four children were gunned down on prom night just for being in the wrong place at the right time. This isn't a "lower class" issue either. A local magistrate, two daughters of the former police chief and a few attorneys have been arrested for drug related offenses. While most of the drugs are coming in from Detroit and Columbus there seems to be a pipeline from Michigan to Florida and everyone in between is being hit.
Personally, I've never understood the draw of it. But I've seen plenty of people who are.
