What did everyone think when they heard this portion of the speech?

Succeeding in Iraq also requires defending its territorial integrity and stabilizing the region in the face of extremist challenges. This begins with addressing Iran and Syria. These two regimes are allowing terrorists and insurgents to use their territory to move in and out of Iraq. Iran is providing material support for attacks on American troops. We will disrupt the attacks on our forces. We'll interrupt the flow of support from Iran and Syria. And we will seek out and destroy the networks providing advanced weaponry and training to our enemies in Iraq.

Wow, at times Bush is even more of an idiot than I thought him to be. And thats saying something.

And he will fail there also. Even worse, since it is over seas, and the US population isn't behind him, only the troops.

I was wondering, could Bush, or any pres after him, instate the draft for Iraq, or would that be illegal?

He or any other President could, but it wouldn't be wise.

Damn, congress should make a law that the draft can only be instated if we were not the cause of the war.

I don't agree with that. I certainly wouldn't want to limit the war powers of a Dem President just because I disagreed with his target. Military action by consensus never works.
