No one to criticize Congress, you may be jailed!

First admendment, forgetaboutit, these neo-crazies want to stem criticism of congress by sending any grass-roots org. to jail. This means you and me. "Section 220 of S. 1, the lobbying reform bill currently before the
Senate, would require grassroots causes, even bloggers, who communicate to
500 or more members of the public on policy matters, to register and report
quarterly to Congress the same as the big K Street lobbyists". Is this what we want as a country? Please call your rep. and let them know what you think......Thank You...Article Congress to Send Critics to Jail, Says Richard Viguerie

This is similar to that McCain/Feingold "campaign finance reform" bill. In that bill, somehow they slipped in there this little tidbit about it being illegal to talk about any candidate 6 months before an election, whether it be by bloggers, email, radio talk shows, ANYTHING. What that has to do with campaign finance reform, I have no clue.

It has to do with "Organizations" like moveon.org, or something politically affiliated or motivated from freely financing elections without coming under the laws, by making commercials basically. Its a contribution that was not formerly counted against the caps. The little guy is fine. It has to do with major organizations getting too much money in under the radar.

Our first amendment just doesn't sit well with some people. First it was "seperation of church & state" ( a ruse) now it's "free speech, only if the politicians deem your speech favorable to them"

The entire Bill of Rights (The first 10 of our Constitution) doesn't sit well with the fascist bastards who are in office.

If there was a way for every politician who broke their Oath of Office to uphold and protect our Constitution to get punched in the head by Hulk Hogan for every incident, there would be very few people alive in the Government today.

wow i'm glad there's only 8 people viewing u.s. politics while i post this this morning. i should be able to slip under the radar.

i think it's more important to understand what the democrats won't do for their own members. why not insist that earmarks be published and the path to that earmark be exposed? of course nancy pelosi and john murtha who are two of the biggest spenders on the earmark side would have to fess up but so would have bob ney and randy cunningham.

i'm just more interested in what these reforms have in them to effect our congress. there's too much money in politics period and money corrupts.

ooh, I wouldn't call them fascists but do agree that most of them would probably do away with the Constitution given the chance. They've managed to do away with a lot of it already. Socialism & a Constitutional Democracy aren't meant to go together.

I find it hard to believe, but people still think that new laws passed by congress will better their lives. Nothing can be farther than the truth. Normaly you can take a new law and interpit it at 360 degrees from its title to get the true meaning of that bill or law. Look at the "no child left behind", or "deficit reduction bill of 2006". What a crock-o-dung. Dems will not help, they are no better or worse then those on the right.

I hope this is some wake up call to Americans to how the Republicans have squandered civil rights for a quick fix.
