You must be kidding. Repeal of Glass Steigall allowed the banks to create trillions of dollars of worthless derivatives. It made the housing bubble possible. The banks made a killing and in the process may have ruined the country.

Glass Steigall had nothing to do with average blokes. It was to protect us from companies that are too big to fail.
More people made it big before Glass Steagall was repealed and more people lost their asses after it was repealed.

Right. Just like Bass doesn't mention that gas prices were actively gamed by the Administration's connections to keep the rabble in line. Might have had something to do with the Administrations promises that the Iraq invasion would result in lower gas prices. Hey Bass, what were the gas prices like worldwide while ours were so low?
