I think it's fair to say that we all have similar concerns, on all sides of the spectrum. This is just more reason for a big, principled pow-wow on what the fuck we're going to do about "us" as a nation.

Morgan.... I'm not sure quite how to say this - our system depends on the concept that every voter is making a well informed decision. Not just the rocket scientists, not just the ones with cushy jobs or six figure incomes. Everyone.

In other words, politics has to be a basic skill. Again.

Politics has to become a basic skill again.

And I mean, politics is not all that hard. There are just a few very basic rules. There's even a "system" that works pretty well if you stick to it - a system of navigating through the trials and tribulations.

You see, some people are under the mistaken impression that politics is supposed to be the solution to our problems. It's not! It's how we decide what the solution is, it's how we navigate to the solution, but it's not a solution in and of itself.

The biggest mistake an American voter can make is between elections. When an issue comes up, the biggest mistake a voter can make is to say: "let the politicians handle it, that's what we elected them for, that's their job so let them do it".

Actually, that's why there used to be limits, established by each state, on who could vote.

Today the Democrats believe that it's "disenfranchisement" to demand a voter present valid ID at the polls.

Then again, the Democrats all supported Franken, who recieved more votes from some precincts than were voters in those precincts.
They wielded a invincible weapon. A small wooden plaque bearing the letters F.T.I.W.

No, there were limits back then because the Federalists didn't want the poor and non-Caaucasians messing up their vote.
