    Modern Politics

I'm part of the 32% of Democrats or 47% of All Respondents.

    I love this comment:

This has to be one of the most bizarre turns in political discourse I have ever seen -- a political group bragging that they are the most likely to compromise their principles.

Now, I don't mean roll over and give up EVERYTHING however
Obama seems confused about what 'compromise' means.

I don't know, Jackalope. I think he's a neo-lib. A third wayer, so to speak. Much like the Clintons, but they're much better at it. They know how to get shit done. That's why i supported Hillary over Obama. I still think I was right. Am i bitter? I was never a PUMA. They suck, big time. But yeah, it kinda pisses me off. I really think Hillary would have created more jobs.

A lot of people are confused as to what a compromise is. Pretty soon we are fixing to get a dose of what it means to not be able to compromise.

I was just talking about that with Morgan on PF a few weeks ago. I was for Obama, but I've wondered a few times if Hillary wouldn't have been better. I didn't think she'd be able to get health care done, b/c of the baggage from '94. Now I'm just not sure.

Moderate that I am, I am in the 34% of Republicans. Of course it matters just what the stakes might be. I might not give an inch depending on the issue.

This budget debate going on right now...I'd give in to eliminating some corporate tax write-offs, but spending cuts better be real and worthwhile. Doing so means very little chance of decent job creation. But at least economic growth could be stabilized even if weak.

Given the only two choices available, so am I. To me, the situation is the same as last year's Delaware election; stick to your principles means voting for the Tea Party witch and losing in the general election, being willing to compromise means going with the GOP candidate who works well with the liberals in a liberal state and maintaining a Republican senate seat for those votes where it really counts.

Very true. Repubs view compromise as a bad thing. They actually think they always lose whenever a compromise happens. They will ignore the points they actually get what they want and only focus on the points they don't get.

The Art of Compromise is what will make a Nation great or makes a Great nation, depending on your point of view.

Sure there are areas I wish Dem's wouldn't comprimise on but in the end if it means America inch's forward rather then stalls altogether then good.

Compromising on core principles is not a good thing, IMO. Lesser compromises are okay. It's really too much of a situational question to be framed so simply.
