    Steele out as RNC Chairman

BREAKING: RNC bounces Steele, taps Wisconsin GOP leader as new chairman – CNN Political Ticker - CNN.com Blogs

I don't think Steele was anything special. Not sure that someone within his own group will be any real change. Seems like an odd choice to me.

I have never really paid to much attention to leadership within the parties. I knew who steele was.

The other differnce is that Priebuis will not support Palin like Steele was.....althougth I never did understand why Steele would back Palin as he is a Moderate. Still do you think this a good move.....for Rove has brought in 10 times the amount of money that what Steele did.....which is another reason Palin will get no support financially for any primaries from the RNC or the Neo-Cons.

Do you think having one from Wis., is better than having any Southern Cons running anything?

Well if you consider the chairman as chief cheerleader, it would probably be better to have a southern conservative as their cheerleader. From a standpoint of wanting better leadership or a different image then I think that having someone outside of the deep conservative trenches is probably good. All a matter of perspective.

I personally think it fits right in with todays Republicans really splitting from their conservative roots and becoming more moderate. More conservatives then could conceivably build a stronger tea party which would be bad for Republicans/conservatives initially, but better for America.

Yes, I see what you mean.....althought in Truth, I am all for the pushing of Conservatives to be their own Party. Still taking anything away from the Southern Cons is a good thing in my mind.....less chance of theocratic bullshit always being applied to politics.....not to mention those Southern Cons were never Republicans in the First Place!

Don't you think that the Tea Party has to have more than less government and touting Conservative Ideaology?

I hear ya, but I also realize that out of what 200 million potential voters I am likely in the minority. There are plenty of ideologies to go around and I think the more that can be represented the better. I too hope the tea party succeeds, not because I am in love with the Tea Party, but because I see it as a beginning of tearing down the walls of our two party system. I think once one group is successful we will begin to see more and more successful groups.

And yeah, I personally would think that a party would tout more than just a mantra of less government/less spending. They are going to have to get some substance behind what they say no doubt. That being said, they have to start somewhere. They are Davids going up against Goliaths. They can't even afford to drop the 'r' from their title. If they can stay true to their word, muster some substance and garnish some respect and support they just might get somewhere.

Unfortunately, for them, they will not get widespraed support until Palin quits being their voice and I don't see that happening overnight.

Priebus is tied, through Paul Ryan, to House Speaker John Boehner. The displacement of Steele can be viewed as a victory for the old-guard, professional politicians. He (Priebus) will function well as a fund-raiser, say the things he needs to say to bolster the party, avoid any ideological battles and stay far, far away from the Tea Party.

Correct me if I'm wrong....... but wasn't M. Steele the last black person in the Republican Party? (not that it's a big problem because I understand they already are working on makeup for the new RNC chairman)

In keeping with their "We are an open tent party" motif!

All the more better and Ryan Heads the Budget Commitee.....don't look like those Southern Cons will be able to slip anything by Ryan.....and the more they dwindle away in the fundraising part. The more they will become irrelevent! Now to focus on that DeMint and run that piece of shit out of Congress!!!!!
