    Fatah vs. Hamas debate

This is an interesting debate, the moderator asks both sides some pretty tough questions. Worth a watch/listen.

I think it's interesting that both sides are adamant at the need for reconciliation.

I watch all of that and from what they were saying I do not think they will make any agreements with each other. Fatah are in the Israel/American camp and Hamas are in the Iranian camp. I do not see an end to this problem and what they were saying is that it will go on and on, one guy was bringing up Algeria fighting for 130 years for independence..so I guess that is the future. They did a vote at the end of this program with the studio audience and they voted by 89% to 11% that they had no confidence in the Palestinian leadership. I see no peace..

I watched it too. It was kind of sad. I saw nothing, no ideas, nothing. Poor Palestinians. I would have liked to see it with the people who are currently living there speaking to them and telling them what they need and think.

Yeah, that's the problem with politics sometimes. Politicians have vested interests in maintaining the status quo as much as possible, and being innovative is risky. The Palestinians are in a tough spot, but if their leaders were more innovative, perhaps they could improve things.

It is quite grotesque really and as if what the Great Khan has said is true and the leadership has just got used to their people living in hell. I can see why the audience's only response was that they should get out and let some new people in.

It begs the question why are new people not coming up and I guess that is because both sides are exercising repression against their own people.

I imagine it takes a while to work up to the senior leadership of Fatah, or Hamas. You have to earn your streetcred.
