A legitimate reason why promiscuity is a bad thing. I have had several people cringe when I inform them of the number of people I have had super happy fun times with and am challenging you, the posters of PH, to come up with a good reason as to why polyamory is bad.

It's only acceptable if your a guy. Other than that promiscuity may lead to diseases.

So by that judgment it's only okay for gay men to be polyamorous, right? Otherwise, you're indulging the great American double standard of it's okay for men to be libertines, but it's wrong for women.

Outside disease and hurt feelings, I see nothing wrong with it. You can avoid both to some degree. Use safe sex and make your intentions clear about the emotional aspects and commitment.

As long as every knows everything up front, and no lying involved, I say go for it. Fuck the puritanical people who worry more about what goes on in other peoples' bedrooms.

True true, I have friends, married friends that rely on promiscuity for their relationship to work. They have no children, and I figure that half of marriages end in the dumpster anyway so why the hell not. It is not for me however.

I don't believe that promiscuity in itself is a bad thing, but without the proper protections I could see why some may view it that way. Its your life......enjoy it.......you only get one.
