By all of the typical metrics: height, family tree and handedness (presidents tend to be lefties); Obama had the nomination sewed up before the first vote was casr.

Well if you go by past typical metrics then all of the past Presidents were white.

True and this election will test that metric. I'm saying that metric is artifact but time will tell in about 8 months and I still say if the Republican Prosecutor in the Rezco case has half a brain and any political ambition the really bad news will hit after the election and prior to Obama swearing in as POTUS.

Politics is not beanbag. Eradication of the Dems and facing only 3rd parties for decades is the Republican ideal. That has not been attainable in the past but it may be attainable now.
