Thread: Turbo Tax SUCKS

Anybody do the free e-file on Turbo Tax this year? They ruined it. Last year it worked perfectly, this year it sucks big hairy stinky balls.

All they do it bomb you with dialog boxes trying to sell you shit you don't need, and when my AGI from last year (which came directly from my last years return from THEM) didn't work, I had to print out the 8453-OL which wants a Declaration Code Number, which they didn't give me (I'm hoping they e-mail it to me) and after doing my whole return (an EZ how complicated is that?) the threw me back into a bunch of EIC questions they should have known I wasn't eligible for. Whenever you click on "More info" you get another dialog box trying to sell you updated shit. And NO for the 10th fucking time I don't want to pay you $28 to do my state return! :hissy:

Not to mention using up all my ink printing their excessively long bullshit and the grammar is straight out of India with a lot of the questions.

I hate these people. They wrecked a perfectly good product. This is why I hate corporate America. :flickoff:

Ya I used it once, never again. I hire my taxes out to good ol H&R, they have done well for me.

I've used it for the last 4 years and I bought a new one a month and a half ago, but haven't used it yet.

I will never, (well, at least for awhile), use H & R Block since every year they would keep raising the rates to do taxes and we would wind up spending hundreds more than with Turbo Tax just to have someone, who is using the exact same software as Turbo Tax!, do our taxes.

Come on, $10 per document?! (at least 4 years ago it was). They easily made at least $100 off me right there. What a frickin' ripoff!

I hope I have no problem with Turbo Tax when I finally use it; it seems like it will take longer than usual, though.

Well since they already have your money, you'll probably be fine. Since I'm filing an EZ form, I see no need to pay to file. That's just stupid. One of the good things about age is - you get pretty good at doing your own taxes. I'll be damned if I'm paying for something to assist me in paying the governemnt. Bullshit, I say.

It just occurred to me a while ago that the EIC thing they were referring to might be the one you get for being over fifty. But since it was in Indian translated to English I didn't make the connection.

I don't understand why the IRS.gov can't just scan in the three forms, 1040, 1040 A and 1040 EZ onto their website, and let you e-file from there. It would be simple, cheap and people are accustomed to the format so there would be no more errors than when filing on paper.

But nooo.... we have to let everybody make a buck on this, willing or unwilling. I'm surprised more people on the right aren't railing aginst this as they bitch about taxes enough, why not bitch about the e-file system, which is designed for no other purpose than to make you pay extra for the convenience of fing your taxes on your computer. Fuck that, I pay Roadrunner, charge them the damn fee.

FairTax.org and be done with the whole dang thing!

I do not like the rates that the Huckster is proposing, 30% is an awful lot.

How about shrink gov, get rid of the federal reserve and pay no taxes.

Even if it was 30%, fucking TurboTax would charge an extra $20 just to e-file it for you.

We have our taxes done. No way would I even attempt it.

I used to do my own, even was I was a contracting, but these days I am to lazy and it cuts into my beer drinking time.
