An irrational anomoly like Paul is always more interesting then a serious political contender. And much more entertaining from the perspective of political satire.
I vote to keep threads about Paul in the open and not hidden away in some graveyard thread. His supporters are always whining about how poor Paul never gets any publicity like the serious candidates. Why feed Paul supporters paranoia? Let him stay out in the open and take his lumps.
You know, I suppose I could see your position if those were the only two choices. There really are some important distinctions among the candidates that are viable. That is not to suggest any of them would be such a sweeping change as Paul might. Still, if you'd take some time to look at what is on the buffet (instead of spoiled meat in the garbage), you might find some sustenance in there. There is much to be said for voting for the lesser of two evils. You should try it some time. You might get even less evil.
I like that your focus is on the economy. That way, you make the challenge easier. I hope you will keep your focus on the economy. Under the dems, you can expect substantially more spending than under Romney. The substantial difference ought to be enough to get your attention. If you are that concerned about spending, you would (being the great patriot that you are) utilize your vote to make sure the dems do not prevail and have their way.
Bush blew it. There's no doubt about that. McCain would blow it, too. He is Bush on steroids - which might be good for the war, but that's about it.
Huckabee is a goner - more of a dem anyway.
Giuliani can't make it. He'd have been a hopeful 2nd to Romney.
Then, you have Romney with a proven track record to save economically-challenged businesses and government.
Why would you throw your vote away when you have such extremes between the dems and Romney - especially when the economy is that important to you? I admit Bush screwed up, but Romney is not Bush. Bush never had any experience to speak of in running a business and keeping up with the budget. Romney is the opposite of Bush in that regard. Moreover, he proved it.
Don't waste your vote. Save the economy from the dems.
Gosh. And with such a poignant analysis, it's a shame your views had to be placed in this censored thread and away from the mainstream. I think I'll just need to bow out of the Ron Paul discussions like was suggested. I was just hoping that Ron Paul supporters could begin talking about this election and the choices in a more positive and committed regard, rather than a being bogged down in a "doomsday" rant.
I'm voting for Romney and still see the excitement of what is occurring on the democrat side. Unlike RP supporters, I do not view it as Romney vs. the Devil, regardless of who might be on the other side of the ticket.
We do. The choice is between Ron Paul, and the CFR.
Go ahead and stick with Willard the chameleon who changes his political positions with the wind. There is no excitement coming from establishment hacks like Mitt and Hillary.I'm voting for Romney and still see the excitement of what is occurring on the democrat side. Unlike RP supporters, I do not view it as Romney vs. the Devil, regardless of who might be on the other side of the ticket.
