Could we have a section dedicated to lobstering off New Hampshire? I've read a few John Irving books that mention the subject and would like to share.

I don't really have anything to say but being a New Hampshire lobsterman I just have to get in the last word.
Rye Harbor in Rye NH just north of North Hampton is a real working harbor. You'll find lobster boats, private fishing boats, public deep sea fishing boats plus just all around sail boats and pleasure craft. There is a little lunch stand there if you want a cup of coffee or a hot dog. If you you would like to spend some time watching the activities at the Harbor I would suggest the deck at Saunders Restaurant which is just to the right of the above picture. They have a large deck and very large prices as well. What the heck your paying for the view not the food. Great spot to bring that Vespa!!
That Lobstering is so damn interesting!
I owe massive quantities of green to everyone who's posted in this thread so far.
Man, now I'm hungry. Davo, your getting a red for making me hungry...
Now that's funny.
I shall also add, just for the man!![]()
This is me in my lobster hunting suit. I fool the lobsters in believing that I'm just a harmless giant New Hampshire lobster and they scoot right into my traps. It's a technique that I learned while obtaining my BS in Lobstering at the University of New Hampshire.
