Thread: Our Grandson

The one that hasn't been back from Afghanistan very long, got orders for Iraq. He isn't overjoyed about being deployed but said, "I volunteered for the army" & that's all he says. He is engaged & was to marry in June, I'm not sure where those plans are now.
I admire him but I am so worried for him, fo all our troops. Selfishly, my grandon is at the forefront of my worries.

I served three 13 month tours in Vietnam with 2/7th Cavalry, 1st Cavalry (Airmobile) so I know how he feels and I share your concern. Thank him for his service.

If you wouldn't mind, what's his first name? He's included in my prayers.

You are one my personal faves around here because you have taught me that even though we don't see eye-to-eye on many issues, we can still get along.

That being said, I know you're family is really important to you so I know this is really bothering you. The way you write about him, it sounds like he's a good kid with good head on his shoulders. I'm sure he got some of that from you.:waving:

You made me cry, what a very nice post.
It does bother me, I never got used to my husband deploying while he was active duty USAF for 22 years. Botom line, our grandson did volunteer, as my husband did during a war (Vietnam), I have to respect that. Prayer & hope/faith is all I had/have, that has carried me & my family through some pretty rough times, it'll carry us through this as well. Friends, family, & people that care are so important. Thank you.
EVer notice the things we disagree on, or don't always see eye to eye on aren't all that important, not in the big scheme of things. :hugtight:

steezer's post is on the money, you and I don't agree, but we don't dislike either, that would be such a waste of laughter and prayers and caring. You've helped me in my struggles and have helped me laugh, of course I care about you and I care very deeply. :hugtight:
