I agree that the early Harry Potter books were much better, but then I was about ten when I read the first one, so maybe it was just me. But as for them becoming 'dark', all the best children's books are scary. Look at Grimm's childrens stories - all dark forests, wolves and wicked witches. Have we been spoiled by all this unrealistic, and sugar sweet, Disney crap?

I think kids like a bit of Gothic. I read stuff like Bram Stoker's Dracula and Mary shelly's Doctor Frankenstein when I was like eight, and it never did me any harm (he said -twitch, twitch).

My sister's kid was trying to eat that little toy I got him and all that. A couple of teeth is showing and he has just started walking! The moment I entered the house, couldn't believe my eyes!

Marriage... huh... I don't know it's a long long road. These things just happen I guess, but for moi, I've got other plans!!! PhD ... a mansion ... and perhaps billions. Then I'd think about it!! Tsk tsk.. Not too materialistic but goals definitely!
Well, maybe the scientists could fix it so, us women carry the child for 8 months, then it gets transplanted in the man for the remaining month, then he has a C-Section.

Gosh, I mean we ARE supposed to be in the age of equality here!

Kids eating things, yeah no matter what, by instinct they always put stuff in their mouths....got to be careful though with small toys, thats danger area.

PhD, a mansion and perhaps billions....in that event YOU'LL be getting TONS of proposals, better watch out

I get so sick of people who always say "the old stuff was better!". Of course it was better, you saw it when you were ten. Every thing was better when you were ten: you didn't need to work, your parents fed you, and pop stars invited you to come play at their amusement parks!

I pull out on the equality thingy - since you lot are earning as well, take the top spot! I prefer my convenience.. tsk tsk ..

I know, he gets attracted to silver too, I noticed. Very active little kid, in fact he is my new bestest pal!

On marriage and stuff life that, as if I am not getting them now, I have been lucky that such proposals or whatever have always been female initiated. Maybe it's the manner of women I am surrounded with, maybe, they seem pretty mature. But then, sadly we are in a world where a man is not measured with his ideals but the amount of money in his pocket, education in some cases and accomplishments. So since that is the staple, I want to be the best there is like everyone else. I doubt a person ever wants to stand up against Gates or Jobs, even in a joke!

On companionship, there isn't a shortage of the ideal woman, they are all to the best a man can hope for, I am just not ready for somethign like this! Too much for me, honestly put. As you say, it happens, when it does.

Wizards and wicca are as bad as they can get in a Christian world! With serpents that devours children int eh girl's toilet followed by a massacre with of course, where death and torture is prevalent what do you think is the direction?

Gothic content is fine as long as it is literature, it's acceptable I guess. Even some of Shakespeare's work has an element of violence in it. But then, as long as there is a moral value and a lesson in the project, the kid's could be exposed to it I guess. I am not advocating censorship but I guess, simply if it's worth spending money on.

Potter is fine but it's going completely off course in my view. And we all know Potter will die. I guess, no one guessed it on the release of the first book.
