Not that I'm computer technical....but I'm sure I've heard that in computer terms 1969 MEANS something.
I was once at a forum ages ago....and something weird happened and the forum went down, and when it re-emerged everything like the dates of all posts read December 31st 1969.

In 1969 some switch or something was put in use at a university. I thing it's mean purpose there was for people at the uni to get updates on current studies/researches. Don't quote me on any of that tho![]()
Probably the battery that maintains the date on the server was down when that person posted. That would create a false date.
Specifically a sequence like this would create the error.
Server is down for maintenance. When re-booted, the operator did not recognize that the CMOS battery was down and when the machine booted, it had the default date (different for each Bios but usually at least 25 years ago).
Somebody logs in and posts and the log puts in the wrong date...
