My (on again, off again) girlfriend has just finished reading the play Lysistrata. She poses an interesting theory that the reason that men subjugate women is because we fear them. The basis for that fear is that women hold all the biological power, and thus attempts at subjugation, by men, are nothing less than usurpation of that power. She also argues that if women were ever to become truly cognizent of the power they wield over men, that they could end war, reform government, and generally rule the world. Would you agree or disagree (I actually agree with part of her assertion).
